Lack of trust persists for some St. Helens parents even after acting superintendent named

Parents are not relieved of their concerns with the St. Helens School District, even after it appointed its new acting superintendent, Dr. Steve Webb.
“Right now, I don’t know if there’s anything that can happen to keep me from pulling my kids out of the district,” said Zach Doarn, a parent of a child with special needs in the St. Helens School District.
Superintendent Scot Stockwell is on paid administrative leave after one teacher and one former teacher were arrested for allegedly sexually abusing students. After his administrative leave, the Oregon Department of Human Services announced that it is investigating six current and former employees, including Stockwell and St. Helens High School Principal Katy Wagner, for allegedly not reporting "child safety concerns."
On Monday evening the St. Helens School District board announced the appointment of a new acting superintendent, via zoom, with no public comment.
