‘I was nervous’: Rural Oregon residents narrowly escape wildfire

As eight large fires burn throughout Oregon, firefighters have worked around the clock to keep the flames from destroying people’s homes.

It’s a miraculous feat, given conditions are not working in their favor.

On Tuesday, Gov. Tina Kotek invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act to mobilize state resources to fight the 71,000-acre Lone Rock Fire burning in Gilliam County.
