Portland bike shop owner faces $6,000 loss after burglary

A Portland business owner is out thousands of dollars after his bike shop on Burnside Street was burglarized.
Nicholas Sorenson told KATU News he first learned about the burglary when he woke up Friday, Nov. 15. An app on Sorenson’s phone that was connected to surveillance cameras in his store, Something Cycles, detected motion around 5 a.m.
Sorenson said he rushed to the business and found his back fence knocked down and a rear window smashed out. At least one burglar was recorded on video walking a bike out of the store.
