Doctor fatally shot during discussion about guns: Prosecutor

A Barrington man accused of killing his estranged girlfriend and the mother of his child over the weekend struck her twice with a baseball bat before shooting her in the chest with a gun he’d reported stolen, the prosecution alleged Wednesday.
