Break in rain Thursday morning, but breezy and wet conditions soon return. ‘Bomb’ cyclone continues to weaken and spin "offshore" but will keep showers and breezy conditions across the Northwest through next week.
What is a bomb cyclone? A rapidly intensifying area of low pressure caused by extremely cold air taken over warm air. Creating a stronger pressure gradient hence, gusty winds.
Oregon Outlook: Atmospheric river will drift east and give a bit of a moisture break Thursday morning. Rainy, breezy conditions, however, will return on Thursday night. Rain at passes on Friday, but a return of snow down to 4000′ elevation on Saturday morning.
