A Storm Tracker 2 Weather Alert remains in effect for the Oregon Coast Range and Cascade mountain passes. Heavy snow is falling in the Cascades and over the last 24 hours, over a foot of new snow has fallen at Government Camp.
“The snow level will remain low enough for more accumulating snow in the foothills and mountain passes as the next weather maker rolls in Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night,” says Storm Tracker 2 Meteorologist Rhonda Shelby. “Travelers in the Cascades need to continue to be ready for extreme winter driving conditions at times.”
The Winter Storm Warning is scheduled to expire at 10 p.m. Monday night. The National Weather Service says heavy snow above 2000 feet with additional accumulations of 10 to 15 inches. “Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes,” NWS Portland said
