Multnomah Co. to hold off releasing deflection success rates until February
1 min read
It’s been two and a half months since Multnomah County began offering people who are caught with a small amount of drugs the option to deflect away from jail and charges by accepting to engage with substance use services.
The county says it will not have data on how many people have actually engaged and with which types of services until at least mid February.
"We have learned a lot about how the program is working for participants, yet it’ll be a few months before we have enough data to fully understand the outcomes," said county health director Rachel Banks.
