Indigenous Portland artist talks award-winning book ‘My Powerful Hair’

Steph Littlebird illustrated the book “My Powerful Hair,” which is a 2024 Carter G. Woodson Award winner. The award was established by the National Council for the Social Studies in 1974 to honor books for young readers that depict ethnicity in the U.S.
Littlebird is based in Portland and joins FOX 12 Now to talk about her artwork and the book.
