YVYV: Jim Moore breaks down election results across the region

It was a bitter battle in Washington’s Congressional District Three and Oregon’s Congressional District Five, but Democrats claimed victory in both seats.

Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez will keep her seat in southwest Washington after defeating Republican Joe Kent. This was a rematch race for them.

It also appears Democrat Janelle Bynum has flipped Oregon’s CD-5, beating Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer. Bynum will become Oregon’s first African American member of Congress.
