Observers to monitor Clark County ballot drop boxes 24/7 following arson
2 min read
Clark County ballot drop boxes will now be staffed with observers leading up to the election following Monday’s arson on a dropbox at Fisher’s Landing.
According to Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey, the boxes will be staffed 24/7 and observers have been instructed not to confront or interfere with anyone dropping off a ballot.
"We’ve changed our practice here, so we’re now picking ballots up in the evening. anyone who puts their ballot in the drop box, about four or five thirty, that ballot is going to be delivered here to the elections Office that same day," Kimsey told KATU.
Kimsey says their only ask is to contact 911 if they see any suspicious behavior.
“With so many eyes on it and Clark County putting their money where their mouth is you can know that this is a safe election and they take this very seriously,” one observer told KATU.
