Settlement reached in ex-CPS teacher’s alleged abuse of students

The federal lawsuit against Andrew Castro, a former gym teacher at Federico Garcia Lorca Elementary in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood on the city’s Northwest Side, alleged he abused the boys on and off campus over a period of four years and that district officials failed to protect them.
