Hospital doctors at Providence St. Vincent and Providence Women’s Hospital threaten strike

If you or a loved one have ever been admitted to the hospital and consulted with a doctor, chances are you probably talked to a hospitalist.

Hospitalists are usually general practitioner doctors or nurse practitioners. They decide things like when you get discharged.

They don’t usually unionize but they say corporatizations of hospitals are changing that.
