Late to the party? Rainy season and Cascade snow finally returns to Oregon this week. Frequent showers on Wednesday, steady morning rain for the Willamette Valley on Thursday. This is technically the first atmospheric river of the season, but a weak one. Regardless, snow levels will drop to 4,000 feet of elevation Wednesday night for Santiam, Willamette and Government Camp Passes. Rainfall of around a quarter of an inch and mountain snow of up to 6-inches possible by Thursday afternoon. Drier weather Friday, Saturday, but storm number two slated for Sunday afternoon and into Monday. Our jet stream, the conveyer belt of moisture is starting to get active and our story has just begun.
