Chicago Marathon in progress Sunday morning; about 50,000 runners expected, downtown street closures

The Chicago Marathon has once again brought thousands of runners and spectators to the city this weekend, with runners starting the 26.2-mile course Sunday morning from Grant Park. The marathon is in its 46th year in Chicago, and this year’s event is expected to include some 50,000 runners from over 100 countries. Race officials say that could be a record number of runners for the marathon. Among those are three men who have run in every Chicago Marathon since it started in 1977.
