Port strike may hike prices, cause shortages of certain goods: What to know when in Illinois

U.S. ports from Maine to Texas shut down Tuesday when the union representing about 45,000 dockworkers went on strike for the first time since 1977, but goods are still flowing through ports in the Great Lakes, thanks to workers being on a separate deal from the ones affecting dock work elsewhere.
