What to pay attention to during Washington’s CD 3 debate on KATU

The race for a House seat between incumbent Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and Republican Joe Kent could decide the balance of power in Washington, D.C., next year.

KATU News is partnering with Willamette University to host a debate between the two candidates on Monday, Oct. 3 at 6:00 p.m.
Republican Joe Kent and Democratic incumbent Marie Glusenkamp Perez are in a rematch of the 2022 campaign after advancing to the general election in the August primary.

Congresswoman Perez narrowly beat Joe Kent in 2022.

The 2024 race in Washington’s 3rd district is one of the most import congressional races in the county in 2024, as it could help determine which party controls the House in 2025.
