Chicago seeks technology to replace ShotSpotter

Hours before Chicago’s use of the ShotSpotter gunshot-detection system was decommissioned, the mayor’s office announced a formal request for companies to submit information about replacement technology and said a group of both city and non-city employees has been working for months on developing alternative options.
