Methadone clinic in SE Portland makes changes after concerns over drug use expressed

This is a story that took a big turn in a span of two weeks.
A month ago, Josie Grasseth was fed up with a methadone clinic at Southeast 164th and Division. Methadone is used to treat opioid use disorder, hopefully helping those addicted to opioids like heroin and fentanyl ease their way off the drug.
Grasseth works and lives near the clinic. She was disturbed by what she saw.
"Next door at the methadone clinic, people are coming in doing drug deals that are not allowed on property. They’re nodding off in their driver’s seat, with the keys in the car," said Grasseth.
Other neighbors expressed concerns too. Angry that the clinic doesn’t have security in the parking lot to control the large crowd. They say they watched people smoking fentanyl all around them.
But after KATU News had an off-camera discussion with clinic employees, they promised changes, including managing the large crowd in the parking lot.
