Portland City Council votes to tentatively deny appeal to stop Live Nation music venue construction

After 4.5 hours of listening to testimony and asking questions, Portland City Council unanimously voted Thursday on a motion brought by Mayor Ted Wheeler to tentatively deny a land use appeal brought by Music Portland.
Music Portland, a local nonprofit made up of Portland musicians, filed an appeal to stop two local development firms, Colas Development and Beam Construction, from leasing a 0.8-acre plot of land on the east end of the Hawthorne Bridge to Live Nation Entertainment to build a 62,000-square-foot music venue.
