WNBA Commissioner Cathy Englebert announces team to Portland, Oregon

The spotlight was on women’s sports at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on Wednesday as WNBA Commissioner Cathy Englebert announced the Rose City will get a professional women’s basketball team that will start play in 2026.
The Portland team will be owned and operated by RAJ Sports, led by Lisa Bhathal Merage and Alex Bhathal.
