Illinoisans pay the second-highest property taxes in the nation.
and this election, voters in Illinois can vote on a non-binding referendum called the Illinois Property Tax Relief Amendment Referendum. It asks: "Should the Illinois Constitution be amended to create an additional 3% tax on income greater than one million dollars for the purpose of dedicating funds raised to property tax relief?"
Pat Quinn joined the WGN Evening News on Monday. He is the former governor of Illinois and has taught property tax law at Chicago Kent College of Law for 25 years.
