Thousands of Boeing workers on strike in the Pacific Northwest, including at Gresham plant
1 min read
Thousands of Boeing workers voted to strike Friday, when the union rejected the company’s latest contract offer. That includes about 1,300 people at the Boeing plant in Gresham.
"They gave us an offer, our members rejected it and now we’re out here to show them we’re rejecting it and wanting them to bargain in good faith," said Scott Lacey, with Local Lodge 63.
The contract offer that union members rejected includes a 25 percent raise over four years. However, the union is asking for a 40 percent raise over three years, and for the company to bring back traditional pensions.
