Pilot of Alaska flight from #Portland first thought people died in door plug blowout

Emily Wiprud, a Portlander herself, was recognized on Thursday for her “skill and professionalism” when helping land the flight on Jan. 5. She says when the door plug first blew off, she initially thought people had died.
