Multnomah County opens cooling centers amid 100-degree heatwave

Multnomah County is opening cooling centers on Thursday and Friday from noon to 9:00 due to the heatwave.
According to weather experts, temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees during the day and barely dip into the 60s at night.
Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson declared a state of emergency effective at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 5, through Friday evening.
