Dogs and cats living in squalor seized from Lents home

Authorities seized 13 dogs and two cats living in squalid conditions from a home in the Lents neighborhood on Tuesday.
According to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, a warrant was signed Tuesday to seize the animals at the home on Southeast 86th Avenue near Tolman Street, about six blocks west of Interstate 205.
The DA’s Office said authorities seized the animals after multiple complaints were received of malnourished animals living in dangerous conditions.
A KATU photographer at the scene reported the stench of feces emanating from the house.
Filthy animal crates were in the yard and a derelict boat was parked out front. The Portland Bureau of Transportation plans to remove the boat.
The DA’s Office worked with police, Multnomah County Animal Services and the Oregon Humane Society.
The office said concerned citizens saved the lives of many animals.
The DA’s Office has not announced any arrests or charges in the case.
