Planned Live Nation music venue on Portland’s east side spurs backlash

The live music scene in Portland is about to up its game. Two new sites are competing to see which one is built first.
Both are on the east side. One at Lloyd Center, the other at the east end of the Hawthorne Bridge.
Local team Beam and Colas Development Group partnered with Live Nation and received city approval to build a new 62,000-square-foot music venue that would fit up to 3500 people.
The plan has its share of critics.
