‘Go Now’ evacuations for 150-acre McCaffery Fire; Redmond Airport closed

A wildfire east of Redmond Municipal Airport and south of Highway 126 grew to an estimated 250 acres Saturday night. It prompted some Level 3 (Go Now) evacuations and the closure of the airfield at the airport.
The McCaffery Fire, first reported around 2:00 p.m. Saturday, was burning on Bureau of Land Management land, according to Central Oregon Fire Info.
