Caught on Camera: Plane crash lands at Sunriver Airport in Central Oregon #oregon #katu2abc

At 1:36 p.m. Saturday, Sunriver Police responded to a plane crash at the Sunriver Airport.

Police say a 1957 Piper-22-150 aircraft had just landed at the airport when a strong wind gust caused the plane to dip its left wing which contacted the runway.

The nose and propeller also hit the runway, bringing the aircraft to a stop.

The pilot of the plane was not injured in the crash. Sunriver Police contacted the NTSB and FAA to report the incident.

Officials tell KATU News that the plane was removed from the runway around 2:30 p.m. and the airport reopened.
