Woman breaks up an attempted abduction at a Vancouver Park

Police in Vancouver are looking for a suspect in an attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old.
Officials say at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, August 18, an unidentified male tried to abduct a child at Lieser Crest Park on Virginia Lane.
“A good Samaritan intervened, the suspect released the child, and retreated into a newer dark SUV (possibly a Jeep), and fled the area, north on Fredericksburg Way,” Vancouver Police said in a press release.
The male suspect was not known to the child, officials said.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5’8” tall, weighing about 140 lbs., may have had a short beard, with face, hand, and possibly stomach tattoos. He was wearing a black hoodie, black basketball shorts with red on the sides, and dark shoes, VPD said.
Vancouver patrol officers have canvassed the area and Missing Persons detectives are following up on the incident.
