PRESSER: Police seek suspect caught on camera appearing to beat dog

The Portland Police Bureau is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect caught on camera beating a dog and they also suspect the same suspect hung the dog from a fire extinguisher or hook.
“Anybody that’s willing to do this to a helpless and vulnerable animal, we have significant concern about what they may be capable of doing to another person or another animal,” said Sgt. Matt Jacobsen with Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit.
On August 2, 2024, at an apartment building in the 500 block of Northeast Holladay Street, security cameras captured a man repeatedly abusing a dog.
The PPB says the abuse included hitting the dog with a heavy rope and hanging the dog from a fire extinguisher so it could be repeatedly kicked.
