Crews battle wildfire near Hagg Lake, Oregon

Crews are battling a brush fire that started near Gaston on Thursday morning.

Just after 11 a.m., Gaston Rural Fire District responded to a vegetation fire near Southwest Lee Falls Road and Southwest Summit Avenue. There’s no word on how big the fire is at this time.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has announced “Level 1: Be Ready” evacuation orders for people who live in the following areas:

Between Southwest Sain Creek Road and Southwest Lee Falls Road.
Between Southwest Lee Road and Southwest Lee Falls Road.

Henry Hagg Lake was also temporarily closed to ensure aircraft fighting the fire have access. Deputies are alerting lake visitors of the closure.
